Modi government to refute Mamata's "Bengal Deprived" accusation: Rs 5.36 lakh crore released in five years

The Modi government has come out with a detailed report countering West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s charge that the state has been deprived of funds by the Centre. According to the report released by the government, a whopping Rs 5.36 lakh crore has been allocated to West Bengal in the last five years.

Speaking at a press conference, Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said that contrary to Mamata Banerjee’s claims of neglect, West Bengal has received substantial financial support from the central government.

Funds Allocated for Development Projects

The report highlights that the funds allocated to West Bengal have been utilized for various development projects across the state. These include infrastructure development, healthcare initiatives, education programs, and schemes for poverty alleviation.

In addition to the financial support provided by the Centre, several flagship schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Swachh Bharat Mission have been implemented in West Bengal to improve the quality of life for its residents.

Economic Growth and Job Creation

Despite facing challenges due to political unrest and administrative issues, West Bengal has shown significant economic growth in recent years. The state’s GDP has consistently grown at an impressive rate, contributing to India’s overall economic development.

“The central government remains committed to supporting states like West Bengal in their efforts towards economic growth and job creation,” said Anurag Thakur during the press conference.

Challenges Faced by West Bengal

While acknowledging the progress made by West Bengal, the report also highlights some of the key challenges faced by the state. These include issues related to infrastructure development, public healthcare services, and law enforcement.

“The central government is working closely with the state administration to address these challenges and ensure that every citizen of West Bengal receives access to basic amenities and opportunities for growth,” added Thakur.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is evident from the report released by the Modi government that substantial funds have been allocated to West Bengal over the past five years. The allocation of these funds towards development projects and welfare schemes reflects the government’s commitment towards inclusive growth and prosperity for all states in India.

“We hope that this report will help dispel any misconceptions about neglect or discrimination against West Bengal by the Centre,” stated Anurag Thakur as he urged both state and central governments to work together towards a brighter future for all citizens.
